Sequim Elk Herd

One of the signature moments for any visit to Sequim is an encounter with the resident Roosevelt Elk herd. Watch for the Elk Crossing sign east of town on Highway 101, and if it’s blinking, you might be in luck.

Nice picture of this handsome duo. I’d love to know where they are hiding. Last year at this time they were on the South side of the highway.

Good to see you’ve taken steps to ensure motorists know the elk are nearby. In Austin, Texas, quite a big city now, suburban gardens have white-tailed deer traipsing over the lawns day and night, eating, eating, eating. Their crepuscular tradition has vanished, our block has a small herd of seven magnificent bucks and numerous does and fawns….usually one or another limping! Jane
